how to add categories at the left side or a sidebar?

  http://www.elithecomputerguy.com/ is not a wordpress.com blog. It is a WordPress.ORG blog, and you need to be over there for help with that.

  this site was made with wordpress at godaddy or hostgator.
  will it make the difference?
  i would like to have some sidebar easy to use some plugin
