How to add categories to the blog page

    Hi, I have created my portfolio but cannot work out how to separate the categories from my pages in the drop down menu. I want the categories to be attached to my publications page, not the main menu. I think I have everything else done. This profile is my writing portfolio where prospective clients view my published work
