How to add CC copyright notice to footer on wordpress.com?
-
As you see, this blog is on wordpress.com, so maybe that limits what I can do. In any case, I do not see how to access or modify any code.
I am using the Twenty Eleven theme. (I know, it’s old, but it’s nice. I’m open to suggestions, tho.)
My copyright will be a Creative Commons one.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

joneall,
Try this code, replace the message in quotes with your desired message:
#site-generator:after { display: block; content: "Copyright Message Here."; font-weight: bold; color: #555; } -
-
I don’t understand how to add a footer with copyright. Does the theme really matter? It’s Twenty Fifteen by the way.

@ccwyattbooks,
Please open a separate thread if you have a request, easier to keep track of things that way! And yes, copyright notice can be added to footer via CSS.
Here’s the code to add a copyright notice to your blog’s footer:
.site-info:after{ content: "Awesome Copyright Text." } -
Just to add, how themes display footer can vary, so yes one code may not work on all themes. Here it is again, fixed semicolon:
.site-info:after{ content: "Awesome Copyright Text."; } -
Will you go in and do it for me if I gave you assess? Because I don’t know what I’m doing. I put in the code but it didn’t work.
-
Okay, I got it. Now how do it get rid of all that other stuff at the footer still? And how do I insert the copyright icon?

Giving your access credentials on forums is not appropriate. :) Only Staff can access your accounts, we volunteers can’t.
Glad you were able to do it. Please note you’re not allowed to remove the theme and WordPress.com credits from footer. It will be a violation of WordPress’ rules.
Here’s the code again with copyright symbol added:
.site-info:after{ content: "© Copyright Text."; } -
But I need that Theme footer removed from my official website. I won’t use it with showing. I would have to cancel my subscription.
-
How do I speak with a staff member? I need that theme info and Blog info at the footer removed from my official website.
-
You can’t remove the footer credits, no matter what plan you’ve subscribed to – even VIP bloggers need to keep it intact.
