How to add Facebook and Twitter links on main blog.

    FACE-BOOK and TWITTER — Is it possible to ad those links on the main blog instead of manually adding them on a links page.

    I would like to have the Facebook and Twitter logo instead of an html link, is this possible?

    There are lots of options listed in the forum. I prefer http://getsociallive.com which is free and easy to add to your posts. There are also specific widget codes you can get from Twitter and FB, but you must use the HTML only version, not the javascript versions.

    I’m agree with Elizabeth Etienne: I’d like to have it on the main blog instead of having to manually add the button to each post. Raincoaster does not seem to have answered that question.

    I did indeed. You’re misunderstanding the question, specifically the part where she says “a links page.”

    You do not have to put them on a links page; you DO have to add them to each post OR use the built-in Twitter feature explained in Support. There’s no such functionality built in for Facebook.

    If you want a generic button or text link on a Links page that does not contain the URL for any of your specific posts that easy to do. You simply use an image and link to your facebook and twitter profile pages to the respective images.

    The downside of making such a choice is that your individual posts will not then be automatically updating at Facebook and Twitter. I prefer to use getsocialive on all my posts so that my accounts are automatically updated with links and snippets from my new posts immediately after I publish them.

    Note that I’m referring to updating Facebook fan pages and Twitter in the post I linked to above. raincoaster is correct there is no such built in functionality for Facebook. The alternative for Twitter is found here in the support documentation http://en.support.wordpress.com/publicize/
