How to add Home button to ocean mist pages nav bar?

I’d like to add a home button to the top left pages nav bar before “doggie daycare”.
Can’t seem to get things to work correctly.Any suggestions would be appreciated.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Create a static page. Do not add any contents to it. Do not type a title into the title field. Instead copy and paste this following link into the title field of the static page and then click “publish”.
<a href="http://puppykindergarten.wordpress.com/">Home </a> -
Thank you for the suggestion. That option created a double row header due to too many header buttons. “the extra space” pushed it over the edge.
After tinkering, I found another method.
I created a page with the word “Home” and edited the permalink to say index-php.
This worked! No html code in the page title needed.
Any downsides to this method?I’ll check how it looks in other browsers before marking this revoled.

Looked ok in all browsers except that I’m noticing the tab row is a little off center.
I guess I’ll have to look into custom css to center the tab row?Thank you for the help. Now I don’t need to switch templates just to get a home button.

Yes, that worked. I’m using Firefox 3.6.4 and it’s a teeny tiny little space … SHRUG I wouldn’t bother spending $15.00 per year ever year to eliminate a teeny tiny little space on a free and free hosted blog, but if you want to that’s your decision to make.
