How to add Like me on Facebook widget

  I am very new to blogging and I do not understand how to correctly use the Like Me Facebook widget. Can someone please direct me? When I tried to do it, the title shows on my blog with a white empty space beneath it. I clicked on the title and my facebook page came up. Confused!
