How to add Marketing affiliate link banner on WordPress sidebar

    Hi,

    I have a question about adding marketing affiliate links on a blog. Here is the process I followed. When I copy and paste and save the link under the text widget on the sidebar, only the deactivated link appeared on my blog. I prefer to remove it. My WordPress theme is Twenty Twelve from BlueHost. Do you think that this theme support the affiliate link? Should I change the theme? What free lovely and brilliant theme do you suggest? What do you recommend me? I would like also like to install other social media on my blog like twitter, linkedin, facebook, google+… What do you recommend me?
