How to add menus??

    I’m new to WordPress and yesterday downloaded a new theme. It only has two menus at the top “home” and “about”. I want to add a few more pages to me blog site for different subjects, but when I follow the custom menu instructions it just doesn’t seem to happen. Can someone please give me some advice?
