This is a multi-user blogging platform. Our blogs share a common architecture. We bloggers cannot access metadata.
There is no FTP access to free hosted WordPress.com blogs and we bloggers cannot install plugins. More to the point we don’t need SEO plugins at all. http://en.blog.wordpress.com/2013/03/22/seo-on-wordpress-com/
It can take weeks for search engines to index your blog. It’s publishing posts, not pages that attracts search engine attention.
The process we use for verifying free hosted WordPress.com blogs with search engines is found here > http://en.support.wordpress.com/webmaster-tools/
Note: Even if you do not verify the blog the content will be indexed by search engines so don’t feel panicky about this please.
WordPress.com provides the search engines with site maps. We bloggers do nothing. http://en.support.wordpress.com/sitemaps/

Do not use more than the minimum combined number that are relevant and accurately describe post content. See http://en.support.wordpress.com/topics/#missing-posts

These 5 videos introduce how Google discovers, crawls, indexes your site’s pages, and how Google displays them in search results. It also touches lightly upon challenges webmasters and search engines face, such as duplicate content http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2010/03/22/5google-webmasters-video-tutorials/
If you are using a WordPress.com theme good SEO is a given. However, going beyond the theme what the blogger has done within that structure is worth evaluating. Whether you write informative, persuasive or controversial content learning how search engines work, and how to apply basic SEO to you content will benefit your blog as it will increase traffic from targeted readers. http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2011/10/21/two-seo-videos-for-bloggers/

You can add the google webmaster verification code in tools -> available tools if you are still wondering.

Why would he be wondering when I already posted this above?

Sorry I know you posted a link, but, plenty of people seen incapable of reading the support documents, so just giving them the direct instructions, if they were still confused.

if they were still confused.
I follow up all threads I post into and there has been no response from the jerinjones1 to what I posted.
If you start tailgating me into threads then I be happy to reciprocate and post the step by step instructions right behind you, instead of posting links that encourage bloggers to read and improve their reading comprehension skills.
That would easy as pie for me to do no typing required as I have a blog that’ s full of 7 years worth of such instructions. You see raincoaster and I predate the support documentation. In fact some of it was compiled from our answers to forum questions that date back to when there was only 1 support Staff member, 1 support forum (no sub-forum) and 1 thread of FAQs.

Cool. Apology accepted. :)
P.S. There’s nothing that annoys me more when driving than tailgaters do.
