How to add new category?

Not familiar with the new WordPress layout and having trouble with the categories.
How do you add, delete, and edit your categories now?Thanks.

Help. I do not want to blog. I only want to download a free theme to create a website for a domain I already have. This is ALL new to me and I cannot get a theme download and this site is asking me to blog!!! Help!! I am beyond frustrated because I already paid my host and went straight to wordpress to download a free theme to get the design created and and had wanted to post it via the host yesterday. Haven’t made progress getting a template nor getting on here without fifty ?’s re evreything except downloading a free template, and I dont blog! Sorry. Can anyone tell me what to do to download a free template. I am sorry I don’t know anything nearly as well as most of you guys, and all I want is a template and that’s it. I dont want to follow blogs and all that. I just want to set up my website with my artwork. Period. Thanking you in advance. Camille

Don’t hijack other peoples’ threads. You can’t use WordPress.com themes on your WordPress.org site anyway.

Mr/Ms Raincoaster. I don’t know what hijacking a thread means. I was also NOT able to start my own “thread.” Mr/Ms terramishu, I apologize for “hijacking” your thread. I did not mean to be disrespectful. I was trying to “blog” or whatever you call this to ask anyone for some help. And in response to raincoaster’s last sentence, .com sent me to .org. I am not trying to sabotage my own actions. If anyone can help me please begin a new thread since I cannot and I will gratefully accept anyone’s help. Again, and very sincerely, apologies for any appearance of disregard. I am just reaching for straws for help.

WordPress.COM themes are licensed for use and available for use ONLY on WordPress.COM hosted blogs.
We provide support here only for WordPress.COM hosted blogs. We do not provide support for WordPress.ORG software installs. Your site is not hosted by wordpress.COM and you are posting to the wrong support forum.
WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different username accounts, logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support documentation and separate support forums. If you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, so you can post to the support forums there.

I use the classic editor so I don’t have the to cope with tagging restrictions imposed by the new Beep Beep Boop editor.
You cannot deactivate the new Beep Beep Boop editor but you do not have to use it. I don’t use it at all.
