How to add new posts to pages?
-
I am having an issue trying to do somethign seemingly simple.
On my blog I want to have multiple pages. Let’s call them A, B and C for simplicity. When I write anew post, I want to post them to a specific page. HOW do i do this? There’s no option like “post to which page” when you make the post. It just always seems to appear on the main page.
Secondly, I don’t WANT any new post I make to automatically post to the home page. What if i want the home page to be static? I also somehow managed to apparently delete whatever page the “home” page was, as no post anymore finds itself to the homepage, it just says “sorry no posts matched your criteria” on the home page. Do I have to name a page something specific for it to be the Home page?

Can we get a link to the site you are talking about please? Is it this one, http://jeremystegura.wordpress.com/ ?

nope not that one. It’s on another account. Id rather not give the name of the site since I am asking about it under this account that leads to my real name/website, and just dont want my real name associated with the blog I’m talking about

Ok, pages are static and sit outside the blog structure. You cannot “post” to pages. To organize posts at wordpress.com, you use categories. You can then either place the categories widget into the sidebar and when people click on a category name they get a listing of just the posts in that category, or you can use the custom menu feature here and put the categoies into the main navigation.

http://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/You can use a static front page if you wish. Create the page, publish it and then go to settings > reading and set that page as the static front page. If you do not want a normal blog page (which shows all the posts) then simply do not create one and use the category navigation via the custom menu or categories widget.
