How to "add" new theme?

  All the youtube videos on “how to add a new theme” in WordPress are outdated.

  I do not see a “add new” at the top of my wordpress page when I go to Dashboard then I click on Appearance >>then Themes.
  All I see at top of the page is Newest or Popular themes. Why did WordPress delete this feature?

  How do I upload and add a new theme to WordPress?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hey there,

  It sounds like you are trying to install a third party theme for a self-hosted WordPress.ORG blog. Third party themes can not be uploaded to a free hosted WordPress.COM blog. They are for WordPress.ORG installs which run on different software.

  WordPress.com vs. WordPress.org

  The good news is that WordPress.COM has hundreds of available themes that you can activate (many for free), and they are found under Appearance > Themes

  Thanks for clearing that up. I created a website and not sure if I should be using wordpress.com or wordpress.org?

  Is wordpress.org free?

  Hi there,

  WordPress.org is not free – you’ll need to purchase hosting for your site with WordPress.org whereas hosting with WordPress.com is free. Our support page talks a bit about those differences as well.

  I use ipage.com as my hosting and they offer wordpress.com only.

  I should have went with bluehost or host gator to get wordpress.org.

  I knew there was a catch for ipage.com low cost hosting…lol

  Hah. Never heard of iPage.com. =)

  What features on WordPress.org are you wanting that you don’t think is available with WordPress.com? Is it just the political theme?

  It’s not exactly political, but we have some cities and government themes that might appeal to you:

  https://theme.wordpress.com/themes/features/cities/

  You can always change the background, header, etc., and stylize many of our themes to make your site look more political.
