How to add pages to posts
-
Hi,
I have the Mystique theme, and on the demo found here https://mystiquedemo.wordpress.com/ the post called ‘Layout Test’ has 3 pages created for the post, how can I create different pages to a post please?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

If you want to split your post into several “pages” you can follow these instructions for pagination:

Hi,
Thank you for answering my question :)
I just tried adding
<!–nextpage–>
but it didn’t create another page, just a page break :/
It is the post called ‘Guess the Episode…’ here http://www.futuramatips.co.uk

Did you add that while you were in the Visual Editor tab of the Post Editor or in the Text Editor tab? It needs to be added while in the Text Editor tab.
Here’s a bit more on that: https://en.support.wordpress.com/editors/#text-editor

Hi,
Thanks for getting back to me, it was because I tried adding it to an image post, I changed it back to a standard post and it worked :)
Thank you

Interesting, but that is rather odd.
It is quite late here but I will give it a try out on my test site tomorrow.

OK-I can now confirm that in Mystique, the Next Page code does not work in a Post when using the Image Post Format.
I also tested this in my test site’s default theme, Zoren, also using the Image Post format. In that theme the Next Page code works. So it does appear to be theme related.

Hi there,
Thanks for reporting that issue! I let our theme developers know there’s an issue with pagination in the Mystique theme. When I tested, it only worked on posts with the Standard post format — with any other format, including the Image post format, the pagination didn’t work. I’ll let you know when I get an update about that issue. :)

Howdy!
Thanks for bringing this bug to our attention! We’ve made a fix to Mystique so you can now use pagination no matter which post format you choose.
I hope this helps!
Cheers,
