How to add Ping Lists?

I am trying to set up my account & would like to add a ping list but can not find the tabs to do it. I do not see an “Options” tab at the top of my initial sign on nor on my Dashboard. The only tabs to the right are “settings” & ” users”. Under the “settings” tab, I can go to the “writing” tab but I do not see any “Update Lists” option available. I must be going to the wrong place… can anybody offer some words of wisdom… thanks!

Pings are done automatically by wordpress.COM so that option doesn’t exist here. Whatever you are reading about ping lists most likely applies to wordpress.ORG blogs, the self-hosted version. See an explanation of the differences between the two in the stickies at the top of the forum.

But what is pinged automatically? I have found three or four Swedish blog sites that I would like to ping and it really does not seem as they are being pinged automatically. It is nyligen.se and lemonad.se (which by the way seems defect, just leaving error messages). There is also some other that I don’t remember the name of.

there is default ping list added, so when you add a new post, it will ping the default ping list.
if you like to expand the list, use service like this:

http://pingomatic.com/or ping manually.

No. It’s because the only page on your blog that has an RSS feed to ping is your Posts page.
