How to add Print Recipe to my posts?

  • Unknown's avatar

Hi smart people, I have a brand new food blog. Each post will have a yummy homecooked recipe. Can someone tell me how to add programming at the top and bottom of just the recipe part of the post so a reader can click on PRINT RECIPE (probably at the bottom of the post) and ONLY the recipe text will open in another window for printing? I love you all!!!!!

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

oops forgot to include the blog http://www.WorthTheWhisk.com. thanks for help!!!

Afraid that can’t be done at WordPress.COM. You could do it with a plugin at an independent blog using Wp software, though.

Thanks for the prompt reply, can you provide more info? I am a novice, as in TOTAL BABY at the programming but I can do it when I set my mind to it. when you say “at” an independent blog, do you mean moving my blog? thanks again and again.

Yes, it means moving your blog. Buying a domain name, paying for a host, installing the software from wordpress.org, installing a theme, exporting the content from here and importing it there.

    Then installing the plugin.

You could just make PDF files of your recipes and upload them to your blog. Then your readers could download pdfs and print or save them as they like.

/nod to tess – They can already print them with the print function of their browsers, if they know how.

    Hi ella,
yes. no conflict intended—just another option.
Readers and others can copy and print and save and re-post as they like.
But a pdf will let readers see/print a formatted version of the OP’s work.
I woke up with a migraine today and it was difficult to reset the clocks on all the electronic equiptment, so I’m still too scared to go self-hosted.
    Best to you.

Conflict, tess? Goodness, I diddn’t mean that at all, just pointing out another option that requires no money or effort. Sorry you took it that way.

(Meanwhile, I’ve spent much of the evening wondering why I can find organic udon everywhere but mirin and bonito flakes nowhwere.)

hey ella! I really did not mean it—the conflict i mean. email me. I really don’t know where you are. Maybe just use dried shiitake, or shiitake with kombu?

I will, tess. And I still have a few more markets to check, one of which I know has mirin. If I strike out, I can always order from myself. ;)

    @pattilondre – sorry!
