How to add "read more option" and a couple of other q's

    So I have some questions:
1.ive seen on some sites (that dont have any plans purchased) on their homepage just the title of each post and 2 lines of that post and the continue reading option which when you click, navigates to the post’s page. thats only on the homepage, once you navigate to the post’s link, you can view it all at once without having to click “continue reading” How do i do that?

2.I remember while being in the dashboard that I there was an option asking how I want to end my posts, like my signature or something like that. For e.g: Thankyou, amy
    I cant find it again.

    3. The title of my category pages. By default this title is, assuming the name of the category is fashion :
    Category archives: fashion

I dont want this to be the title of my category page.
    How do I change that?

    Thank you in advance

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Note that “the more tag” is not a theme-specific feature. There is also no global setting for it.

Also, note that the setting here > Settings > Reading is only for the RSS Feed summary and does not affect the posts.

If you want to display only excerpts on the front page of the blog followed by read more links, you can insert “the more tag” into each post prior to publication.
    http://en.support.wordpress.com/splitting-content/more-tag/

The read more tag can be inserted once only into any post to change the front page or main page for posts display from full post to an excerpt. The split in the text does not display to you in preview mode but it will be there after the post is published.

Alternatively, you can switch to using a theme that automatically displays front page excerpts. This is a list of only SOME active themes on WordPress.com that use the excerpt instead of full post content. https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/theme-with-automatic-excerpts?replies=13#post-1396410

For other ways to splitting content in posts see > https://en.support.wordpress.com/splitting-content/

I am not aware of such an option in the dashboard and I’ve been here nearly 10 years.

A signature is an image and you can create an image and upload it and them embed it into every post if you wish to.

Many themes don’t display the author byline unless there is more than one user on the site. In fact, very few themes have an author profile with a gravatar that displays below every post. The data is derived from here > Dashboard > Users > My Profile > About You (section) and anything you add there appears on your Gravatar profile page as well.

The point of displaying an author name is to differentiate the posts on a multi-author site. Regardless of the theme, and provided the theme is designed to display a byline, bylines will only display now if there are at least two authors who both have at least one published post in the blog. There’s a single author workaround here.
