How to add registered users to wordpress.com sites?

My site is private and I want to be able to add users as viewers who need to login to see the site. How can I do that?

Having just tried to visit your site, because I also believe performance matters, I can see that you’ve already set your site to private.

Yes, but there is a limit of 10 users. I need more than that and I cannot add plug-ins it seems

I see what you mean from the image on the Adding Users page, but I take that caption to mean that you can only invite 10 users at a time through that form. I don’t see any mention of a follower limit in the support pages.
