how to add "scroll to top" button
-
hello i want viewers to be able to scroll to top of page similar to how pinterest does it- with a small button to right that allows viewers to not have to mouse all the way up blog posts, is this possible? using chateau theme, zestitup.com
thanks!The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I had thought of doing similar, but more of a “Go Back to Top” icon or link in a FOOTER text-or-image widget that would zoom the person back to the top of the entire site (not just within posts/pages).
Have not experimented yet… (using a link in footer of blog’s url would refresh page vs. simply zapping them to top of site). Any other ideas?

I don’t know if anyone’s noticed, but wordpress.com added such a button to the centre of the admin bar for logged in users. It only appears after scrolling. So, if you scroll down a way, you’ll see it appear – it looks like a little grey pin – and you click it and the page rapidly scrolls back to the top.

justpi: I do have the custom design upgrade, did you think there was a way? ‘

@zestitup: I don’t think there’s a way, I know there’s a way!
The HTML for a back-to-top link is this:
<a href="#top">LINKING TEXT HERE</a>You can put that in a text widget in one of the footer areas. Using CSS editing you can style it any way you like and position it at the bottom of the browser window as on Pinterest. If you don’t know how to do this, you can post a question in the CSS forum (and wait for a staff reply; I don’t provide CSS solutions, because WP has taken care to piss some of us off too much).
