I was wondering if I could add a search button and an announcements bar to my website using CSS?
Thanks in advance,

Hi Oliver – sorry you’ve had to wait a while for a response. We answer unreplied CSS threads first, so by replying to your own post it got taken out of our “unreplied” queue. Just letting you know for next time. :)
For “an announcements bar” you might want to try adding the EU Cookie widget to the Footer widget area in Dyad. It’s meant for a cookie announcement, but really, you can put any text you want in it!

For the search button, try adding a search widget to your Footer widget.

Also, is it possible to add a sidebar?
Dyad doesn’t come with a right or left sidebar, and it’s not possible to add one.
Can I add a back-to-top button to my website?
I can think of a couple of ways to do that – you could add a link in your Footer widget area, or you could add it manually within posts and pages. Let me know if you’d like the link on every single page and post, or only in some places? The code may be different depending what you’re after.

I would like the back-to-top button on all pages and posts.
You can edit each post and page manually to add a “jump link” – we have a guide to that here:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/splitting-content/page-jumps/This is quite a cumbersome process, though. I would say that most people are able to scroll up easily to get back to the top, and since Dyad has a “sticky” header, it’s super easy to use the menu from anywhere on the page, so in general “top” links are rarely used these days and you might think about whether they’re necessary. :)
