How to add secondary widgets

  I am beginning to create a blog for our investment firm. I would like to have a menu on the right that shows archived blogs which expands into sub categories. I have added wisgets thinking that would do the trick but I think I need secondary widgets…please let me know what steps I need to take in order to create the look I’m going for.

  The Archives Widget won’t show anything until you actually have some posts published. Once you publish some posts, the widget will display every month that has posts published.
