How to add someone to e-mail list?

    Hi everyone

    Sorry, but I am totally new at this, so please excuse me if my question seems horribly simple…
    One my blog, someone has left a comment asking me to add him to my subscriber list so he gets notified of any new posts.
    I have no idea how to do this & can’t see an option for it in the dashboard.
    I don’t really want to reply to him &ask him to click on the “subscribe” button, sounds a bit amateur.

    Is there some way I can create an e-mail distribution list and add people to it, so they receive notification of any new posts I make?

    You can’t do this. The visitor has to. We can subscribe to WordPress.com blogs and you can enable blog subscriptions for your readers by following these instructions > http://en.support.wordpress.com/blog-subscriptions/

    I agree with timethief. And even if you were to log out and enter the person’s email address, WordPress.com will still send them an email asking to confirm their subscription. There’s no way to circumvent that feature.
