How to add subdomains to my blog domain?

  • Unknown's avatar

Hi, I’d like to add subdomains to my domain hannacheda.com in order to have a separate site for each language version of the blog. That’s to say:

the main domain: http://www.hannacheda.com – English
    es.hannacheda.com – Spanish
    pl.hannacheda.com – Polish , etc….

When I try to add a new CNAME record as advised on the suport page, instead of (subdomain.yourname.com) IN CNAME (yourname.com), I see (suddomain.yourname.com) alias (yourname.com) and the record cannot be saved. Can you please help me with that issue?
Thank you very much in advance,

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi there,
How are you adding the cname? Do you have two blogs to map them?
Hope you are following the instructions from here.
    https://en.support.wordpress.com/set-up-a-multilingual-blog/#option-3-two-blogs
    Example:-
lets say your english blog is hannacheda.WordPress.com and your spanish blog is eshannacheda.WordPress.com. You have a domain upgrade on the english blog to point to hannacheda.com.
To create a spanish blog for the domain hannacheda.com as es.hannacheda.com the cname record you have to use is

    CNAME es alias of eshannacheda.wordpress.com

Feel free to get back if you have any questions.
