Can I ask how wordpress handles the SEO? Is there a way to view words sued in the SEO? I have an SEO on a wordpress site I use through business, but would like to add it to my personal blog and cant seem to figure out how. I have purchased the domain name and it’s not “blogname”.wordpress.com site.

Though it’s not possible to add your own meta tags and such. Note that there are no restrictions if you setup a self-hosted WordPress.org blog instead of a WordPress.com blog, but there are some added responsibilities. Hi,
I am planning to create a website (not a blog) for a local business using WordPress.com (not WordPress.org) as I don’t want to get too technical and neither does my client who will be maintaining the website.I really like all the features EXCEPT the lack of the ability to add SEO meta tags such as meta descriptions.
I notice that WordPress.com in your Support pages do invite people to suggest plugins that may be good and this is one that would definitely convince me to go with you as it is my only remaining obstacle.
Is there any chance you may add this feature in the near future?

Take note that all other factors being equal, a blog hosted on WordPress.COM will outpull an independently-hosted blog. This is in part because bigger web hosts are assumed to be better (by search engines).

Related to this topic, could I also suggest you add Google Analytics so we can analyse bounce rates and the other neat statistics it generates (over above your own Stats tool) such as bounce rates, time on page etc, conversion rates etc. I notice there is demand for that on your community forum too.
Think people who are attracted to WordPress.com (because they don’t necessarily want to be ‘techies’/don’t have time for background site maintenance/solving plug-in conflicts via .org) are also very aware nowadays of the need for SEO tools and the ability to monitor visitor statistics closely. Their clients expect that sort of detailed information too.

chamberpot.co.nz – is a WordPress.ORG install – you should address your questions at http://wordpress.org/support/
That said – your blog / site is only five pages or so – Pages have not much SEO juice – since the WordPress software (both .ORG & .COM) calls up search engines when you make a new Post and asks them to stop by – no Posts not many requests to search engines – you can register your site with the search engines and that will help a bit since they will then know that you exist –
