How to add Twitter to my blog

Er. Confused now. I took the feed and placed it into the RSS widget as advised. Have I missed something. Sorry, not the most technologically minded of people…

Sorry – didn’t mean to confuse you. I clicked on your blog http://cadmium2.wordpress.com/ and I don’t see the widget in your sidebar. Is that not the blog you are referring to?

OK, I see the problem. Somehow, the link in the RSS feed you have there is to http://endofthelane.wordpress.com/ In your dashboard, go to design > widgets and make sure you have sidebar1 selected. Edit the RSS widget (should be the one at the top) and in the url, put in http://twitter.com/statuses/user_timeline/16983153.rss Be sure to click change (at the bottom of the widget) and then save changes (at the bottom of the page). Then see if the message disappears. (Might take a few minutes.)

Sorry, I did as you said and left it half an hour. It still links to my blog. Its no different to what I did before… Any other ideas? :)

You still have the wrong link in there somehow. Sidebars do take awhile to refresh, but it shouldn’t take more than an hour.

But when I clicked on that feed link in your post here, it asked for my Twitter API key. Are your updates protected? Because then this will never work.

Aha! You are a genius! Either that or I am a dunce. (Rhetorical question – please don’t answer)

It was staring me in the face. I have unprotected my updates and it now works.

It’s Sunday. I’m allowed to stupid on a Sunday. Well, that’s my excuse anyway…
