How to add welcome section to 2014 theme

There is a short welcome section that is static to all pages that can be added to the 2014 theme, however i have not figured out how to format/code/get this one mine. Any advice or direction would be helpful

You can try using the Image Widget (http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/image-widget/) to make something similar to that, and add it to your Content Sidebar (where Mrs. Gilmartin has hers it seems) and/or to your Primary Sidebar and/or to your Footer Widget Area.

Another possible option is that you could also customize your Gravatar Profile (http://en.support.wordpress.com/avatars/gravatars/) for that purpose, and use either the Gravatar Profile Widget (http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/gravatar-profile-widget/) and/or the Gravatar Widget (http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/gravatar-widget/) in one or more of your Sidebar/Widget Areas.
