How to add WordPress approved advertising to my blog?
-
Hi,
How can I add wordads to my blog? My blog readership reached 3000 per week. I read the instructions and they were very confusing. My blog URL is shared and referenced by 100s of people world wide. Domain mapping part of the instructions didn’t make much sense. Can I just buy (or have paid registration?) of sergeig888.wordpress.com if it is necessary to share ad revenue?
Thank you,
Sergei

To apply for wordads you need a custom domain. You can register one by going to your dashboard, and clicking on store, and then click on Add Domain. The domain can be anything you like, for example sergeig888.com, it won’t have the .wordpress section anymore. Just enter all the details required, and it will cost you $18 per year to map and to register the domain. Further details are at this link: http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/register-domain/
To then register for wordads by going here: http://wordads.co/signup/ (you can even go directly there and click on Register Domain). Note though that this is a request, and there is a huge backlog so it will likely be many weeks before you get a response. In addition, note that you’ll need thousands of views a day to receive enough money to pay the $18 a year.

If you have a thousand readers per day, you can expect it to be about three months before the domain name has paid for itself.
