How to align footer widgets side by side

  I’m not sure how to (if possible) to align the footer widgets side by side rather than below one another.

  Hi,

  There are three footer widget areas. The width of the area is dependent upon how many of the widget areas are used.
  Some results:

  • Inserting widgets in a single widget area, leaving the other two widget areas empty, will result in each widget being displayed at full-width, with the widget titles in the center of the screen.
  • Inserting widgets in two widget areas produces widgets that have widths equal to half of the screen width.
  • Inserting widgets in three widget areas produces widgets that fill only one third of the screen width.

  The results I shared above are dependent upon the screen size and aspect ratio. I’m on a desktop PC with a relatively large screen, landscape orientation, and screen resolution 1280 x 1024. On smaller screens, and on a large screen with the browser window narrowed, the results will be different.
