How to allow WordPress users create sub-website or mini-website under my domain

    I want to allow my WordPress website users to create their own mini-pages within my site with the possibility of allowing them to select from a list of one-page themes I can provide.

    Example of what I’m looking for: https://www.weddingwire.ca/wedding-websites

    Mainly I need to:

    -let a user create a page

    -let users select from pre-defined themes

    -let users be able to make basic edits to their own page

    -let the user upload photos and edit text on the page

    -let users pay for the service (would this require ecommerce store)

    The result should be sub-director so that it looks like this:

    http://www.mydomain.com/user-mini-website

    I will appreciate help with ready plugins or minimal development and as much explanation as possible, as I don’t have coding experience.

    Hi there,

    For something like this you’ll most likely require a WordPress Multisite network, where you control the main WordPress installation, but then your users each has their own WordPress site linked to your installation. That’s how WordPress.com also works, albeit on a much more massive scale than you’ll be doing.

    We don’t support hosting multisite networks on WordPress.com, so you’d need to go with a provider like Bluehost.com. And for advice on how to set up a multisite, there’s a dedicated forum over on WordPress.org, where the WordPress software is made:

    If you don’t want something quite that involved, you can also ask in the general forums at https://wordpress.org/support/forums/ if anyone knows of a plugin or combination of plugins that will let you do this on a single site. The people in those forums are the people who make WordPress and the plugins found on WordPress.org, so have much more experience in this regard than we have here in the WordPress.com forums – most of our users here are on our free plan and can’t use plugins at all, so recommending specific plugins for specific use cases is just not our area of expertise :)
