how to alter a url address

i went to my dashboard and tried 3/4 times to alter a Permalink:url to the page below from (wallpapering-2 ) to tiling on walls i did it properly and it will not work

Please describe “properly” in this context. What, exactly, did you do? You can Edit a permalink, but then you also have to hit Update.

clicked edit , removed wallpapering-2 , typed in tiling on walls , clicked ok , updated , never changed , harry

@harry, try putting the new title in with dashes such as,
tiling-on-walls
WordPress, and the web in general don’t like spaces in URL’s. See if that works for you. I just changed the permalink on a couple of test posts on one of my test blogs with no problems, but I used the dashes between words.

@thesacredpath , i did all that dashs and all and i do have a page as well and it did not work i’ll just give up
