How to automate the categorization of posts
-
Hi,
I have a homepage configured to display the three most recent posts. Each of these posts (and any subsequent new posts) are categorized.
When new post is created, and one of the three rotates off the homepage, how do I ensure that it goes to the appropriate category?
Currently, none of my posts rotate off the homepage into correct category, even though all of my posts are categorized, and each category exists?
Seems like a simple enough requirement, but…

Rick

Hello. How’s it going? :)
Unfortunately I have only been able to categorise my posts manually and have not been able to find any sort of automation.
However you can manually categorise your posts on the app and on computer by inputting the catergory in the box that it asks you to categorise in.
On the app click edit (for old posts) or the cog icon before publishing and simply put in your category there.
They are still shown under recent posts and when they are knocked down because of more recent posts they are already in the corresponding category you have chosen.
I hope I helped and if you need any further assistance please don’t hesitate to contact me!

P.S On a different note, your posts will only start rotating off the list of most recent in correspondence with all the new posts you make.
Only old posts will be knocked off this list and out under uncategorised.
Need further assistance? Message me! :)

@postchristianman, I see no posts on the site referenced in your first posting here, and I see only one post “Home Page” on the other site associated with your username. Can we have a link to the site you are talking about?
You can set a default category for posts at Settings > Writing. Every new post you create would then have that default category, unless you chose a different one when creating the post in the post editor.
If a post has a category of, say, Walnuts, then it will appear in the Walnut Category page. If you assign more than one category to a post, then it will appear in all those category pages.
