How to avoid confirmation email in both french and english ?

    Hello,

    Subscribers to my blog in French receive confirmation messages in both French & English.
    – title
    – confirmation button
    – footer
    – …

    Iremember customizing the body of this email in French but what about the remaining ?
    What can be done in order to customize completely those kinds of emails ?

    There is no way to customize these emails.

    The language used in these emails is pulled from 1) the default language of the blog and 2) the default language for the follower. If someone who has English as their default language set under Users -> Personal Settings, then they can get mixed languages in email notifications.

    If this is not the case, please take a screenshot of the notification and upload it to your site’s media gallery. This page has some helpful tips for taking screenshots:

    If I’m not mistaken : your explanation seems to work well for a follower being also a blog owner and therefore having a WP account with access to Language Set up etc … But what about a person subscribing through email only ?

    Why do you want me to upload it to my site’s media gallery ? Do you have access to it without it being published ? (I just did if it is the case. The file is named “Notification email in both English and French.png”).

    As for translation, would be glad to help if I can fix this for the community.

    Support Staff at WordPress.com have full access to your site’s dashboard. Since there’s no way to attach a screenshot here, we request you add it to your site’s media gallery so we can take a look at the problem.

    Anyone can help translate WordPress.com using our GlotPress translation engine. You can suggest a new translation for any of the English original strings.

    To submit your translation, you need to add it to our GlotPress database for WordPress.com:
    http://translate.wordpress.com/projects

    You will need to be logged in to WordPress.com account to use GlotPress. Once you are logged in, click “WordPress.com” under Projects.

    Then click on the language you would like to translate into.

    You can suggest a new translation for any of the English original strings, seen on the left. Use the Filter / Sort / Random Untranslated links to find any particular strings for which you wish to add suggestions. You may want to suggest an improvement to an existing translation, or translate a previously untranslated string.

    To add a suggestion that is not in the database, click anywhere on the table row to open a form. Type in your translation, then click “Suggest new translation →” button. Suggested strings are indicated in yellow until they are approved by a validator.

    I did digg deeply into GlotPress.

    And the translations I would need have already been done. That’s why I did this.

    It does not make any sense to me that those simple translated words/sentences are not incorporated in such usual message as a notification email.

    Maybe I’m mistaken but I do not think it is a translation pb but probably more something like an integration pb when those emails are automatically generated.

    I went into GlotPress and searched for the untranslated strings in your screenshot here:

    I could not find any translation string for “Modify your Subscription Options” – can you send me a link where you found that translation so I can pass it off to the team that takes care of modifying these emails?

    Hello,

    Have a question regarding an account I’d like to upgrade.
    I do have a Premium : Sous nos Couettes & a basic account so far : Tails from Paris (its US sister).

    I’m about to upgrade the US blog but I wonder if I should create a complete new account for it or do it from my existing one.

    I’m afraid to lose the English language benefits if I monitor the two blogs from a single account.

    What do you think ?

    While at it, do you have news from your developers regarding my other issue ?

    I don’t have anything new to report with the translation issue other than our developers are looking into the issue.

    With the upgrade, it’s easier to manage them from a single user account. Your language and management settings won’t be affected.

    Thanks. Let me be more precise if I may.

    Tell me if I’m wrong but if I keep on managing two blogs (one in English & the other in French) from a single user French account, I won’t be able for instance to :
    – use the Reader search tool in English and therefore won’t find the right English blogs,
    – switch from one avatar to another (“Tails from Paris” or “Sous nos Couettes”),
    – like or comment someone’s post choosing one avatar or the other,

    That’s what I meant by “benefits”.

    The primary language of the user account does not apply to the sites. The user account language setting affects the language interface. The site language setting is to specify the language for the site’s content.

    You set the primary language for the site under Settings -> General and select the language of your choice. Here’s more information on the two different language settings on WordPress.com:
