how to block a spammer

Please advise me on how to block an account that repeatedly likes the same post and keeps following my blog, even after I remove them. This is spam/harassment/bullying and there needs to be an easier way to remedy this!

For what it’s worth, there’s no great way to block a follower from a public site. You can remove them as email or reader followers, but they can sign up again, and are also free to follow using some other service or even another username. It’s easy for them to get around if they are determined, ad it sounds like this person might be.
If you need to hide your content from this person, I’d recommend making the site private.

It’s ‘Incubated The Movie.’ I’m not willing to go private for this one person I don’t even know, and was surprised to learn you can’t block someone on here the way you can do on other social media. I appreciate your help!

Hi there,
To explain, websites are different from social media platforms in that all websites (the very nature of websites) is to be publicly available to any visitor on the internet. Social media platforms on the other hand require you to have an account before you can even visit and interact with others on the service, so in a way they are already “private” whereas your site is not private unless you decide to make it private in your settings.
Because of this difference we do not have the ability to control people who visit your public site and follow it. However, if you object to any followers on your site, you can remove them by following the steps here: https://wordpress.com/support/followers/#how-to-remove-a-follower
