How to block spammers from subscribing to my blog through email?

    I’m suddenly having lots of spammers subscribing to my blog through email. more than 15/day, and it is increasing.
    1) is there a way of preventing this?
    there does not seem any way of deleting them.
    2) is my blog threatened?
    3) also, I receive sometimes 4 emails telling me that a user has just subscribed, but 4 emails about that same user! – all spammers anyway
    4) what’s going on? why suddenly?

    How are you sure they’re spammers and not just folks who want to read it? :)

    1. No, nothing besides making your blog private.

    2. No, they really can’t do anything except receive your new posts via email.

    3. I’m not sure, maybe they accidentally unsubscribed and then resubscribed.

    4. Your stats had a bit of a jump on April 8, perhaps they’re coming from where that traffic came from.

    well, with 4 or more users people with the same domain as laptop cooler dot me, or passport holder dot me, no doubt here they are spammers.
    1) ok
    2) well at least that’s reassuring though totally screwing my stats
    3) hmm, not 4 times in a row within a few minutes
