How to build plugins

I have recently purchased an interactive map for wordpress, however, I don’t know how to access my admin area to write the codes for that. A teacher used localhost.com/wp-admin, but I can’t seem to find that area for myself. Please help me figure it out and let me know where to access that page.
    Thank you very much.

WordPress.com has a lot of built-in features that were inspired by popular plugins. Chances are, the feature you are looking for is already there! You can search our support site via this link:

    Home

For any features on WordPress.com, the support page will explain how to set it up.

It is not possible to install plugins on WordPress.com, for security reasons. Plugins can only be installed on self-hosted WordPress blogs. If you are wondering how WordPress.com differs from WordPress.org, this support article explains the distinction:

    WordPress.com vs. WordPress.org

If you don’t find what you are looking for, just let me know what you’d like to achieve with a plugin, and I’ll help you find a solution.

Is it possible to transfer what I have now on unceasingjourney.com from wordpress.com to wordpress.org? The plugin that I’m looking for is an interactive world map that I can put in more pages by clicking on the countries. Do I need to switch to wordpress.org for that?

    Thank you very much.

We only allow Google Maps to be embedded on your blog. Google Maps also allows you to create custom maps.

Otherwise this guide will step you through the process of moving your site to a WordPress.org instance: http://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/#moving-to-wordpress-org
