How to cancel a Tumblr import?

    I tried using the Tumblr importer last night to move my blog to WordPress. After several hours with no progress, I tried to cancel the import and rerun it. I now get an error saying that I can only have one import running at a time. How can I cancel my initial Tumblr import? I cleared the account information and disconnected from Tumblr. I don’t know what else I can do.

    Due to the changes at tumblr there is currently heavy traffic at the WordPress.com importer so please be patient as staff work through the backlog to reach you. They need to reset your importer themselves.

    Hi there,

    I’ve double checked to confirm your import is indeed still queued. It didn’t cancel. But please do reconnect to your Tumblr account if you’ve disconnected it.

    We’re processing quite a few imports from Tumblr at the moment, which is causing a backlog of imports in our system. While it may look like your import failed, it’s just in line for processing, and luckily it’s still in the queue. Please allow this to run for the next 24 hours, and if it hasn’t completed by then, update us here.

    Hi,

    It still hasn’t completed and it still won’t let me start a new import. When I hit import blog, it still tells me that there’s another import active.

    Hi there,

    It looks like the import on your site has completed and no import is currently running.

    If you’re still missing posts, please restart the import now – posts already on your WordPress.com site will be skipped by the importer. Please note that it might take a while to complete, though, as we’re still seeing a lot of new Tumblr imports being created so there’s still a backlog.

    If you’re moving due to Tumblr’s recent announcement that they will no longer allow adult content on their service, please note that we also have restrictions on the type of mature content allowed on WordPress.com, and pornographic content is not allowed on our service at all.
