How to categorise and tag pages

Hi there.
I have pages about topics that are related to many things I write about, and which I often link to. Some of them also happen to be the most frequently visited amongst posts and pages. I would like to categorise and tag these pages, so people can also find them via search in WordPress on tags and categories. However, I can’t find a way to assign pages to categories, or assign tags to them (as with posts). Does anyone know if it is possible, and how?
If possible then I think to create more pages and make my blog into part blog, part static website around certain topics.

You can’t assign Categories or Tags to static pages. They are meant for use for static content that rarely, if ever, changes. http://en.support.wordpress.com/post-vs-page/

(2) a clear comprehension of the fact that there is only one dynamic page in a blog for posts and we cannot post to more than that one page. But we can create the appearance that we have posted to more than one page. We organize posts by assigning categories to them. You can create a custom menu and add the categories into the custom menu.
