how to center youtube videos
-
my blog cuts off youtube videos to the left of my screen. how do i center the videos?
-
This is from Panos for centering a map – should work on videos
Center A Google Map
<div style=”text-align:center;”>
GM SHORTCODE HERE
</div> -
i’m IT illiterate. where would i put that code and how do i get to where i should put it?
-
-
no matter what i try, it won’t center: <div style=”text-align:center;”>http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oUuSvJhZXfQ<div style=”text-align:center;”>
or the short code. it just removes the entire youtube video and leaves the video with the code around it. what am i doing wrong?
-
<div style=”text-align:center;”>
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oUuSvJhZXfQ
</div>Not sure what is happening – BUT – if you put the above code in the TEXT editor part – exactly – needs to be three lines – the youtube part needs it’s own line –
If I changed back to Visual editor everything did not work at all – not a clue what is happening – I have ran into the change when in Visual Mode a few times in the past –
I will flag this for the staff – they should be able to help or maybe Panos will drop by
Sorry don’t have a better answer

<div style=”text-align:center;”>
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oUuSvJhZXfQ
</div>and it still didn’t work. the left side of the video is cut off. WordPress staff, help.

i’ve tried every single version and none of it works. there is only a ‘center align’ key in Visual, not Text.
so, please, can someone pretend i am 3 years old, and tell me specifically how to center youtube videos that are on my blog. i just paid $75 for a Themed site and i didn’t have this problem with my free theme. is the problem the theme?

there is only a ‘center align’ key in Visual, not Text.
Then use the Visual editor and the shortcode `[youtube=URL] where URL is the URL in the browser bar, not the one on the YouTube Share button. I have been using this for seven years, and it’s worked all that time.
-
i used the URL button and this is what i got:
http://http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oUuSvJhZXfQi have an url centered in my post not a video. any other suggestions?

Look at my blog http://raincoaster.com. Look how many videos I have. Look how centered they are.
-
every single youtube post is cutoff on the left. when i had the free minimalist theme, this did not happen. when i paid for the Math theme, now all youtube videos are cut off.

is there anyone who works at WordPress who can explain why my youtube videos are cutoff on the left side of my posts? is there anyone who can give SPECIFIC instructions on how to center the youtube video so it is:
a) not displayed as just a centered url and,
b) centered, as my text and non-youtube video and pics are cenetered and not cutoff. -
-
ok. if it’s the Theme, then someone at WordPress needs to refund my $75 or fix the problem. how can a free theme give me more creative control than a paid for theme? guess i know what my next post will be about!
