How to change a blog’s name

    Hi,

    I have checked several times if the question was already answered – but visibly not.
    Here is my problem : I have just created a blog, and now I want to modify its name (which appears in the dashboard “blogs you’re a member of”).
    I have already tried to change its title in Settings > General, but it only concerns the text that appears in the header.

    So how do I change a blog’s name (and not a blog’s title – it’s not the same ^^) ?

    You cannot change the URL of the blog. You can only change the title and tagline. You can purchase a domain and domain mapping for the blog. See > http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/

    Look. When you go on “My accounts” > “My blogs”, you can see this table, and these columns (I apologize by advance, my translation might be bad) : name / domain / primary / dashboard / stats / …
    I am interested in the first column : “name”.

    I have created a new blog since my first message.
    So I can add this “name” I want to modify, is what you type for the “title” of the blog while you create it. At this moment it really says that you can always change it later.

    I think I can’t be more precise ! I’m very hopeful that you can help me now :)

    You can change the blog’s title at any time on this page >
    Dashboard > Settings > General
    insert a blog title here >
    Blog Title
    insert a tagline here >
    Tagline
    Click “Save Changes”

    The instructions above are the only way you can use to change a blog title. If you use headers that eliminate the permalink to the title then you can include the title on the header image and choose “hide text”.THE most important link on your blog from and SEO point of view is the permalink in the header, therefore, I never “hide text” on my headers.

    I already knew and tried this way. It changes the title that appears in the header, but it definitely has no effect on the name that appears in the dashboard !
    Too bad, there is probably no way to modify it finally :/

    No, there is no way to modify it in the dashboard, but you’re the only one who sees that.
