How to Change a media File URL after domain mapping

    I recently mapped my domain to my wordpress.com site and everything went well except for one thing. I have some PDF downloads and when I click and download one, it shows my initial wordpress.com url, not the new mapped domain. Is there a way to change the file url to match the new domain, or alternatively can I rename my initial blog name so its similar to the mapped domain?

    No – the way domain mapping works is blogname.files.wordpress.com

    yes – you can change the blog name – or you can make a new blog with a name you like better (match the custom domain name) – then transfer the content and mapping to the new blog name and leave a note on the old blog that you have moved or buy the domain forwarding for a year to send traffic to your new site
