How To Change A WordPress Theme Without Breaking Website

    Please tell me how i can change the WordPress theme on the website without breaking the website. Sometimes themes get outdated, or you find a better theme that suits the needs of your website better. But if you change to that theme you can lose data or even break your complete website.

    Hi there,

    We do not offer a “staging mode” option so if you switch themes on your live site, that would be visible to all visitors. Instead we recommend creating a second site on your account for experimentation, which you can do at this link: https://wordpress.com/start/

    After that you can export the contents of networthon.wordpress.com and import that content into your new site:

    – https://en.support.wordpress.com/export/
    – https://wordpress.com/support/import/import-a-sites-content/

    Once you have done that, you can switch themes on your second site (which has the same contents as your current site) and you will be able to make as many switches or changes as you wish without affecting the main site. Once you are ready you can then activate that same theme on networthon.wordpress.com and set the same settings.
