Your “About” page is a static page. See the Post vs. Page support page to learn about differences between these two content types. Editing a page is very much like editing a post. The Create and Edit Your Pages section of the Pages support page includes brief instructions on how to edit an existing page.

The author profile that appears at the bottom of each of each post on the site is derived from the “About me” section on your account profile page, here: https://wordpress.com/me. You may edit/update it there. This profile is displayed publicly on your Gravatar profile page, and on your forums profile page.
On the Twenty Ten theme, the author profile automatically displays at the bottom of each post. There is evidently no setting at Customize or elsewhere that allows disabling of this feature of the theme. Perhaps it can be hidden via the site editor, but I don’t know how that would be done. Let me know if you’d like help from staff regarding that.
