How to change an image's attachment?

  I mean, how can I change an image’s attachment from a page I want to delete, to the post that the image is now in??? (without having to delete and re-upload it)

  I made a (private) page, uploaded images to it, and ended up copying the whole page and pasting it into a post format and publishing it. (here: http://loopbraider.com/2015/04/21/uo-dshaped-7tut/) Later I deleted my original version–the privately published page.

  However, I then noticed in my media library that the images in my post were still “attached” to the deleted page! I can see no way to reset an image’s attachment to a different post. I quickly undeleted that private page, because I was worried that when it eventually gets permanently deleted off my blog, all those images that are attached to it might disappear from the post I published!

  So I have two questions:
  What will happen to images that are “attached” to a deleted post or page, but are also in other posts??

  How can I change the attachment of an image?

  (By the way, the wp support doc that seems to deal with this is inaccurate. It says I can click on any image in my media library, and the details that pop up include “uploaded by” (followed by the uploader’s name) and “uploaded to” followed by whichever post or page it’s attached to if any. (the support doc example is “birdcages”).

  Neither of these appear when I click on an image in my library. Much less info pops up than shown, and in a very different format than shown in the support doc.)

  All of a sudden this is fixed!
  Now when I go to my media library the choice to “detach” is there under every attached media item, whereas before there was only the choice to “attach”–the media items that were already attached had nothing to click to detach or reattach somewhere else.

  Have changed all attachments from the page to the new post, leading to another question/ suggestion:

  It would be great if this could be part of the “bulk action” choices, so you could select all the media images that need to be detached or attached and do them all together rather than laboriously one by one.

  (So far the only bulk action choice in the medial library is “delete permanently”)
