How to change Author Permalink (author/username) to [Display name publicly as] ?

I have my blog [phwd.wordpress.com] as admin and [nsbecanada.wordpress.com] as an editor under username [****]. Based on the theme in nsbecanada.wordpress.com, it displays the Author name at the bottom of the post (nothing wrong there, I can change this via the profile settings under Display name publicly as) , the problem (which is not really a problem sort of a feature request) is that when one clicks on this the permalink for the author archives comes up as author/username which in my case is not a very professional looking username. (Yes I know that if I knew the wordpress in full the first time I made a username I would have made a good username)

So my question is , can there be a change that in the future or soon an option to at least change appearance of author permalink between username and Display name publicly as ?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I did: Click on the permalink of an Author
I saw: Author archives comes up as author/username in url which in my case is not a very professional looking username.
I expected: An Option to change to Display name publicly as
