How to change background-color?

    first of all, i’m familar with using CSS, but i just CAN’T find where to put inn the code i want for my background color! I’m using the Sapphire theme, with this: http://s3.wordpress.com/wp-content/themes/pub/sapphire/style.css?m=1249424804g&minify=false (with some small changes tho) codes. I would guess that i had to put it in here:

    body {
    font-size: 62.5%; /* Resets 1em to 10px */
    font-family: Verdana, Arial, Sans-Serif;
    background-color: #d5d6d7; <—-
    color: #000;
    text-align: center;
    margin: 0;
    padding: 0;
    }

    but when i change the “background-color” nothing happens! Anyway, i don’t have thins color, #d5d6d7, at my blog, so i don’t understand where that color can be.

    Can you help me change my background color?

    I an not a CSS expert. We have only a couple of volunterrs who infrequently provide CCShelp – free of charge.

    I’m thinking that if the background color is not defined in the CSS then the only other place it could be defined would be in the underlying template.As this is a multi-user blogging platform we cannot access and edit underlying templates and themes http://en.support.wordpress.com/themes/editing-themes/

    The volunteers who do help from time to time and who will able able to answer your question are not logged in. You will have to wait for them to log in and find this thread.
