how to change blockquote css
-
I just purchased Custom Design. I know a tad bit about CSS, but I need some help here. I have the Notebook theme on my blog. I don’t want to change a lot, but the one thing I really hate is the blockquote feature of this theme. It can be seen here, if anyone is interested. The post has been published, so people can see it, but it is not complete yet.
On this post, I right clicked on one of the blockquotes, and then selected “Inspect Element.” This came up at the bottom of the screen:
::before
<p>…</p>
::after
<//blockquote>But I still don’t understand how to get the kind of blockquote that I want. I want a CSS table type blockquote, just a little shorter in width than the regular text, with a light grey background. As I said, I don’t know how to get that type of blockquote into the CSS of my theme. Any help would be much appreciated..
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I see the following in your custom CSS.
blockquote { background: none repeat scroll 0 0 #ecf0f3; color: #333; margin: 5px 0 10px; padding: 15px; text-align: center; width: 80%; }Nice job!
Are there more changes you would like to make to the blockquote or other things? -
Thank you, thesacredpath. I have been working on it myself, with some success. But I still need to know how to make the table itself (not the text) center within the paragraph. And how do I get rid of that blasted line to the left of the quote?

woo,hoo, hoo, hoo… I got rid of the ugly black line. Now all I need is how to make the quote box align within the center of the paragraph. I tried a “float: center;” but that doesn’t seem to work.

To center the blockquote within the content area, set the left and right margins to auto.
On another note, as much as it would make sense, there isn’t a float center. :)

Perfect! Thank you.
“as much as it would make sense, there isn’t a float center. :)”
I guess that’s why it didn’t work. :)
