How to change blog name in URL? (not blog title)

  I like to switch my URL from http://oldname.wordpress.com to http://newname.wordpress.com without the old URL to remain active. How could I do that?
  (I use wordpress on the wordpress servers, not on my own).

  I believe you would have to purchase the domain name upgrade for that, if indeed it were possible, which I’m not sure. You might find it easier to move the contents of one blog to another, so just register the new one and move the content. Once that’s done, just delete the old blog. Note you will NEVER be able to use that URL again if you delete it.
