How to Change Content Width for Computer Screen

Hey guys, I’m using the Argent theme for my website. I looked up tutorials on how to change the content width, and I found webpages like this:
https://wpexplorer-themes.com/total/docs/customize-your-layout-widths/They tell me to go to Appearance -> Customize -> Layout and then adjust from there. However, I cannot find the “Layout” button after Customize.
I’ve also found other tutorials that suggest making changes in the CSS, so I’ve been trying to do that to change the content width, but nothing seems to do anything. Suggestion?

Hey there, the Customize settings really depend on what theme you’re using. Argent doesn’t have extra Layout settings built in, but I’m pretty sure others have widened it using CSS. This answer is old, but perhaps it would still work:

That gives you a lot more control over the width of elements, and you can edit the theme to get a similar look and feel.
