Hi,
Unfortunately, the default format for post URLs (or permalink structure) cannot be changed on sites hosted by WordPress.COM. They can only be changed on self-hosted WordPress sites.

Howdy evukristie,
Adding to @thabotwsana2013, there are a lot of other themes where you can control them using the
Content Options
You can look into themes Themes
And choose a theme which has content Options to manage the display dates.Or the other option is in your current theme if you Subscribe to
<a href=”https://wordpress.com/pricing/
“>Premium and Business Plan
You can then use <a href=”https://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-css/
“>Custom Css , these features can help you to manage additional design requirements also can remove the dates too.Hope this helps, let us know if you have any further questions..!

Hello there, just jumping in here to second what staff-frank mentioned about not being able to remove the post date from the URL on WordPressdotcom sites; this includes sites with upgrade plans.
Content Options gives you the choice of displaying the post date on the post itself, but it doesn’t remove the date from the post permalink.
Hope that helps to clarify.

No worries @pavanraheja! For reference, here’s the info on WordPressdotcom permalinks: https://en.support.wordpress.com/coming-from-self-hosted/#a-note-on-permalinks even though this support doc refers to sites migrating from ORG to COM.
