How to change DNS records

  • Unknown's avatar

    HI there,
I’m trying to migrate my blog from wordpress.com to Bluehost.
I have already transferred the domain to Bluehost but am not able to migrate my website.
Bluehost says that I have to change my A Record so it points to a different domain.
When I go into: Upgrades, then Domains, the three dots are not appearing that would allow me to edit the domain records.
Any help would be really appreciated, very stressed out as my blog is now offline and I feel like I’m no closer to getting it back online.
    Thanks!
    Caroline

    Hi there!

I see that you contacted us on live chat shortly after posting here, and we were able to point you in the right direction.

To recap, because your domain is now registered elsewhere, you can no longer make changes to the domain’s DNS records on WordPress.com. If you’d like to use the domain with your Bluehost-hosted site, please contact your domain registrar and update the domain’s nameservers so that it points to Bluehost.

If you’d like to use the domain with your WordPress.com site instead, with the WordPress.com Creator plan that gives you advanced hosting features such as real-time automatic backups, SFTP, and automatic malware scanning, please let us know, and we’ll be happy to help you with this further.

    Regards
