How to change email from (email visible only to moderators and staff) TO (email visible only to moderators and staff)?

  I have the same problem as posted at https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/unable-to-change-email-address-confirmation-mail-received-and-clicked?replies=2 . I did not see a solution to that post.

  I have been trying to change my email from (email visible only to moderators and staff) to (email visible only to moderators and staff) and wordpress will not do it! I got the link and clicked it and when I try to log in using (email visible only to moderators and staff) it gives an error. I can login using the original (email visible only to moderators and staff) and then in settings under email I see that the change is pending. Did it several times and it did not work. HOW DO I CHANGE THE EMAIL ASSOCIATED WITH MY ACCOUNT!!!!

  Please send response to (email visible only to moderators and staff)
  My urls are hnpat.wordpress.com hnpat2.wordpress.com hnpat3.wordpress.com (I am playing around to get the correct format.)

  The email address registered with your WordPress.com account is your unique identifier. You can update your email address in your Account Settings, or in your Personal Settings under Users → Personal Settings in your dashboard
